favorite color is green, it reminds me of mother nature. Nature is one of my favorite themes in my childcare program.   I love to go for a daily walk with the children and enjoy nature which is filled with so much life and beauty.  Seeing the fascinating expression in the children faces as they walk and see the trees and listen to the sound of the little births is an amazing experience learning experience for us.

Philosophy

Miosotis Family Child Care is based on the child development model which incorporates the theories of Piaget, Montessori, Erikson and others.  Learning through play is viewed as one of the most important part of our curriculum.  Our group of educators which consist of one license child care provider, one lead assistant and 2 license assistants provide protection, security, stimulation, support, and affection.  Children are respected as individuals within a child-oriented rather than teacher-directed child care setting.

At Miosotis Family Child Care, children are given the opportunity to explore material and participate in a variety of experiences.  Activities are carefully planned and implemented in an open classroom setting.  Children are free to choose from age-appropriate activities including art, dramatic play, music, language development, pre-math skills, science and nature.  Children develop self-esteems, independence and problem-solving skills as they make choices and assist in planning the environment and the activities.

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."

- Nelson Mandela.
